Here are some of the Highlights of the Museum which definitely make you plan your trip.
Dinosaur Hall :
This was my first time seeing the real bones of a dinosaur and i was totally mind blown. As soon as we entered, we saw a real skeleton of a blue whale and i was so shocked to see how big it was in real. Not just the fossils, There were so much to see and learn for everyone about our ancient period.
The Realistic Dioramas :
There are dozens of magnificent and fascinating creatures showcasing a range of habitats like the wildlife of North America and Africa in realistic dioramas.I was shocked to see how realistic these animals looked.
Watch a Living Dinosaur Perform :
This was one of Aareeb’s favorite as kids get to see a friendly dinosaur (of course a puppet) perform for them and keep kids entertained for a whole 20 minutes.
Engage your kids at Discovery Center :
There is so much to do for kids at Discovery Center which is a hands on exhibit where visitors of all ages can touch and explore everything from furs to shells. Let them also peep through the Binoculars, Magnifying glasses, Microscopes which allow kids to learn how they work,This can keep them busy for a while for Free.
Fossil Dig Pit where kids can discover Fossils-
There’s a Table top Dinosaur puzzle too
Birds from all around the World :
This is a wonderful exhibit to teach kids about the different types of birds from all over the world including over 400 species of birds from Southern California.
Nature Garden:
Here you will find a range of different trees, plants and herbs and each one of them is planted to attract some beautiful creatures like butterflies, snails, squirrels etc. There is also a Get Dirty Zone, where kids can fave fun in the sand or see how plants grow.
Butterfly Pavilion :
I have been to so many butterfly gardens and I must admit I have never seen so many colorful butterflies at one place in my life so far. This was a temporary seasonal exhibit

Final Thoughts :
We found this to be just as interesting to us as it was to our 2 year old son. If you have kids and haven’t been here, be sure to make a trip! If you don’t have kids and are looking for something awesome to do in LA for a couple of hours, this would be your place to visit.
